The Association of Iranian Physicians and Dentists in Germany (Persian: کانون پزشکان و دندانپزشکان ایرانی مقیم آلمان, ''Kanune peseschkan wa dandan peseschkanne iranije moghime allman'', shortly: کانون, ''Kanun''; (ドイツ語:Vereinigung der Iranischen Ärzte und Zahnärzte in der Bundesrepublik e. V.), or VIA) was founded on March 21, 1961. From 1961 to 1980 the association's activities were centered on professional politics and social matters. These activities were almost completely suspended until 1988 due to the situation in Iran. During the following four years a reorganization of the association's structure took place. Since 1993 its objectives also include the realization of various national and international scientific and humanitarian projects. The association emerged as a respected scientific organization in Germany from modernization and restructuring in the years 2001 and 2002 and received accreditation by Nordrhein Medical Association. From 2001 till 2008 VIA has organized thirty-three postgraduate courses and continuing medical educational congresses which have been certified from the German Academy of Postgraduate and Continuing Medical Education, state NRW, and the German Chamber of Physicians and earned a total of 205 CME points. The VIA has assigned the dentists till 2008 a total of 111 CME points on the base of scoring of BZÄK/DGZMK in Germany. From 1963 to 1980 the association of Iranian physicians and dentists in Germany issued its publications in 38 volumes of the journal "Djahane Peseschki", which was renamed to "Kanun Medical Journal" (ISSN:1617-6618) in 1993.〔(VIA )〕 ==Notes== 〔
